A lot has happened in a year, so it is nice to take a step back to reflect on our successes.
@UNHStudents is a student-intern-run Instagram account for students at the University of New Hampshire. In 2021, there were a total of 100 feed posts covering various topics such as campus events, club meetings, landscapes of Durham, and much more. Below, I share the top five posts of the year!
#5: Celebrating Our 2021 Graduates

Students were excited to have an in-person event to celebrate the past 4 successful years. UNH photographers covered the in-person event and captured the energy of the day extremely well.

The most exciting day of a college student’s career is hands down commencement.
#4: Nothing beats a double rainbow, right?

This beautiful moment in downtown Durham was caught on camera by one of the UNH social interns. I ended up using it as the cover for one of the weekly events posts, but the Monday morning rainbow really set the tone for the week.

Nature’s beauty beats out most posts, so the fact that it made the top five was no surprise.
#3: Featuring First-Year Students Move-In Day

UNH 2025 was eager to get their college career started, and the UNH social team walked around our residence halls to capture this excitement. In a carousel post, we included five pictures of freshly moved-in students and their unique dorm room decorations.

The return of students to campus in August brought a lot of excitement and joy to Durham. The most exciting day for most first-year students is move-in.
#2: Back to School Meme

As we all know, the year 2020 was an unpredictable and tough time. The ’20–21 school year yielded some opportunities for college students, but the freedom and ability to socialize were still hardened.

Coming back to UNH for the ’21–22 school year gave students hope and excitement to return to a more normal way of college life. I created this meme, to get students excited to come back to campus. It was posted about a week before students moved in. Safe to say, it worked!
#1: UNH alumna says hello from Tokyo Olympics

Elle Purrier St Pierre ’18, who ran the 1,500-meter race in the Summer Olympics, shared this photo with us which we posted with her quote, “Saying hello from Tokyo to my Wildcat fam! Go cats.”
· 2,000 likes · 17,000 impressions · 136 shares
This was by far our highest-performing post of 2021.
That’s a wrap on 2021
The best posts for UNH students are always the big moments. A rare double rainbow, moving to college for the first time, running in the Olympics, and graduating after 4 years of hard work.
2021 was both a year of challenges and celebrating the big things. The UNH Social team is looking forward to sharing more accomplishments our students are proud of. Be sure to follow along!
